Ooni ambassador Alberto Zanrosso (@bearonbike) knows how to throw a rooftop feast for his friends. Although this particularly party doesn’t involve pizza, it does involve his Ooni Karu 12 oven – transported on the bake of his bike – and cast-iron dishes prepared using fresh, local ingredients from Barcelona’s bustling markets.
Why not replicate this at your next Ooni party? We have some of the recipes for you to try yourself including Alberto’s flame-cooked monkfish fillets, smoky king prawns, blistered Padrón peppers, and bubbly cheese fondue.
Monkfish is lean and meaty, that requires simple preparation but can transform into something extraordinary using just an Ooni oven and a cast iron pan.
Follow that with a tantalizing side of smoky prawns, flame-cooked in a sauce of paprika, white wine, lemon, and parsley.
Thanks to their bite-sized shape, Padrón peppers make a perfect salty, shareable addition, too.
Finish up with a warming, and indulgent cheese fondue using two soft cheeses: Camembert and brie. In this recipe, blonde beer is used to loosen the cheese. This adds a malty, sweet flavor, the perfect complement to the richness of the cheese. Our skewers are at the ready!
Experiment with Alberto’s all-star line-up at home!
